Department of Geology was established in 2014 under the Faculty of Earth and Environmental Sciences (FEES). The department has benefitted from Tetfund project, an encompassing betting ediffice housing all the students lecture rooms, laboratories, conference and seminar rooms, PG room, HOD office, five professorial offices and several staff offices. the department graduated its first set of students in 2017/2018 session.
The department has finalized all procedures to commence Post Graduate Diploma, Masters, PhD programs in Geology with specialization in Applied Geophysics, Hydrogeology and environmental Geology and petroleum Geosciences (2021/2022 session)
