The department of Estate Management Bayero University, Kano was established in 2014 under the newly created faculty of Earth and Environmental Sciences with Professor A.I Tanko and Dr. Muhammad Bashir Nuhu (Associate Professor) as pioneer Dean of Faculty and Head of department respectively. The department started with only 2 academic staff, Dr M.B Nuhu and Mal. Musa Abubakar Alkali an Assistant Lecturer with 14 students only. Since then, the number of staff and students in the department has arisen appreciably to 13 and155 respectively.
After Dr. M.B Nuhu’s one-year sabbatical leave, Dr. Jibril D. Jibril took over as the next H.O.D in 2016 until 2021. At the expiration of his tenure, the current H.O.D in person of Dr. Bawa Abdullahi Chafe, assume duty on January 18, 2021.
